Dymphna Kennedy bids an emotional farewell to the Rusty Mackerel

Dymphna Kennedy has signed off as manager at the Rusty Mackerel.
In a post on social media, Dymphna said her time in Teelin was “unforgettable” and said she was leaving with “mixed emotions.” She paid tribute to her colleagues, the locals in south-west Donegal, their customers from far and wide and the musicians who performed there.
“As some of you may know, my time as Manager of The Rusty Mackerel has come to an end,” she posted. “It’s with a mix of emotions – bittersweet but mostly grateful – that I say goodbye.
“First and foremost, I want to express my deepest gratitude to the incredible staff at The Rusty Mackerel. You’re the heart and soul of this place, and your dedication, camaraderie, and hard work have made every day an adventure. I’ve learned so much from each of you, and I’ll forever cherish the memories we’ve created together.
“To the wonderful people of Teelin, a heartfelt thank you for your unwavering support. You’ve embraced The Rusty Mackerel as a community hub, and your laughter, cheers, and kind words have filled our atmosphere with warmth. It’s been a privilege serving you and becoming part of the fabric of this vibrant community.
“Thank you to every customer who has walked through our doors. You’ve entrusted us with creating memorable experiences, and we’ve strived to do just that. Your feedback, both positive and constructive, has helped us shape The Rusty Mackerel into the place it is today.
“The music is what truly sets the mood at The Rusty Mackerel. To all the talented musicians who have graced our stage, thank you for sharing your passion and energy. You’ve brought joy, laughter, and a touch of magic to countless evenings.
“While I’m moving on to new horizons, The Rusty Mackerel will continue to be a beacon of delicious food, good times, and warm hospitality. I have no doubt it will continue to thrive under its new Manager who I wish every success and know will enjoy it as much as I did.
